Helicopter ride over Mallorca
Horseback riding in the Tramuntana Mountains

A helicopter trip, a horseback ride through the Serra de Tramuntana, a day of diving in the crystalline coves of the northeast coast or even a gastronomic visit to the most emblematic wineries in Mallorca: whatever the case, we want you to enjoy your stay to the full. For this reason, at the Gran Hotel Sóller we propose a series of different and original activities to do in Sóller and the surrounding area during your stay on the island.

1. Helicopter with HeliMallorca

If you are a lover of adventure or high-flying, you can experience Mallorca from the air with HeliMallorca, one of the island's leading helicopter agencies. HeliMallorca offers a wide variety of routes and services to suit all needs and tastes, from scenic excursions to gourmet experiences.

2. Horse riding

If you prefer a quieter, but equally original plan, you can enjoy a horseback excursion in the Serra de Tramuntana. The local company "La Gubia" organises excursions and routes in the mountains, specifically in the Serra Nord Natural Park, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

3. Hot-air balloon ride

One of the most magical plans our island has to offer is a hot-air balloon ride to discover its exuberant landscapes from the air with safety, control and peace of mind.  IB Ballooning organises flights and evenings to enjoy with friends, your partner or family, an ideal way to experience the sunset in a unique and unrepeatable way.

4. Experience authentic fishing

Treat yourself to a unique experience and enjoy the pleasures of the sea on an excursion along the Mallorcan coast. Pescaturismo Mallorca offers you the opportunity to live the experience of being a sailor for a day, fishing aboard a professional fishing boat alongside the best local fishermen. You can also spend a quiet evening discovering and swimming in the unspoilt coves of our island or go on an adventure and go dolphin and whale watching.

5. Unique boat trip

Enjoy a special day out on the Mediterranean Sea on one of the incredible boats that leave from the Port of Soller. Soller Charter Experience offers different routes, services and experiences adapted for everyone: enjoy the incredible landscapes of the coast, discover beaches inaccessible on foot and contemplate the panoramic views of the Tramuntana with friends or family.

6. Diving and snorkelling

Another unique way to discover the seas and unspoilt coves of Mallorca is diving: from scuba diving to snorkelling, or diving for beginners and courses for the more intrepid. Octopus Mallorca offers boat trips every day to the most secluded beaches in the area of Sóller, as well as diving sites to see the island's marine fauna first hand: octopus, groupers, corals...

7. Excursion to the Cabrera Marine Reserve

Discover the Cabrera archipelago, a marine reserve located to the south of Mallorca and a privileged ecosystem. It is one of the best-preserved coastlines on the Spanish coasts, and one of the most unspoilt in the whole of the Mediterranean. It has been declared a Special Area of Conservation, which means that it can be visited by means of controlled ferry excursions.
One of them is the Maritime Route around the archipelago, which departs from Colonia de Sant Jordi and lasts approximately 3 hours. Depending on the excursion (Fast, Classic, Premium, Sunset Tour) you can dive into its waters and visit the sea caves (the most famous, the Blue Cave), as well as discover its rich fauna and flora or watch the sunset from the coast.

8. Visit the Mallorcan wineries

With a long tradition of wine and winegrowing, in Mallorca you will find around 70 wineries, all of them with a long history and excellent quality wines, protected by the Denomination of Origin or DO. Among them are, to mention just a few, Finca Son Bordils, Vins Miquel Gelabert, Bodegas Vi Rei, Bodegas Munar, Son Sureda Ric and Macia Batle.
The latter, Macia Batle, is especially recommended because it is one of the closest to our hotel (so the journey would be minimal) and because of its beautiful guided tours, with a train ride through the vineyards.

9. Climbing and coasteering

Coasteering is an ideal activity for lovers of adrenaline and climbing: it involves a tour along the coast combining different disciplines such as hiking, jumping into the water, diving, climbing, among others. This allows you to discover the coast in a very special way, in direct contact with nature, the sea and the rock.
Mallorca Alpina offers different abseiling lines and sites near the sea and the coast of Sóller for both inexperienced and experienced users, which makes this sport very accessible to all those who want to enjoy it, even for the first time.

10. Visit to Raixa

Raixa is a beautiful estate in the municipality of Bunyola, very close to Sóller. Its lush gardens, ponds and panoramic views of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range make it a must-see place that very few people know about.

At the Gran Hotel Sóller we have suggested some alternative activities to do during your stay in Sóller to make it special and unforgettable. At reception we will be delighted to help you if you need any information about transport, timetables, prices or any other details about these unique experiences.
