Visiting the Sóller Valley in summer is a perfect option for enjoying the sun, the beach, the sand, the sea and the incredible landscapes that the Tramuntana mountain range offers us at this fantastic time of year. However, at night, all these marvellous places are transformed by the moonlight, leaving us with a Valley of Sóller with totally different landscapes and an infinite number of options to enjoy in this fantastic municipality and its surroundings when the sun goes down. That is why today we bring you several plans to make the most of the summer nights in the heart of the Sierra de Tramuntana

SUMMER NIGHTS IN SÓLLER CENTRE

In the late afternoon, we will leave the Gran Hotel Sóller in the direction of the Plaça Constitució. Here we can enjoy an aperitif in the bars and cafés of the square and enjoy the live music, almost every night in the little square of s'Alameda, before it gets completely dark. Once night falls, we can see the illuminated Church of St. Bartomeu and the Bank of Sóller, two historic buildings that make for a majestic sight at night. During the evenings in the centre of Sóller we can choose to dine in one of the restaurants in the square and get to know the atmosphere of the centre at night, as well as stroll along Calle de La Luna or Gran Vía to enjoy the architecture of its buildings more peacefully than during the day and find picturesque places in which to sample the Mediterranean gastronomy. However, during the first night we suggest you visit the square, have an aperitif in the centre and then take a stroll along Calle de La Luna, along Gran Vía and return to the Gran Hotel Sóller along Calle de La Romaguera, strolling through the centre of Sóller and ending this night of contrasts at Can Blau restaurant, located inside the Gran Hotel Sóller. After dinner we can choose to relax in the Gran Hotel Sóller or go down to the Port of Sóller for a drink, as we will tell you below.

SUMMER NIGHTS IN THE PORT OF SÓLLER

The Port of Sóller during the summer nights is a magical place where you can feel the essence of the Mediterranean and enjoy unforgettable places. So another option that we cannot miss is to enjoy the Port of Sóller at night. To do so, we can go to the Port by taxi or tram to go down and by taxi to go up. So we will go down by tram at around 19.30h until we reach the Sa Torre stop, the stop that opens the doors to the Mediterranean Sea. Once there, we have 2 options: left or right, so we recommend you to start the walk to the left towards Platja d'En Repic. A promenade full of local shops, cafés, ice-cream parlours, restaurants, etc. Once you reach the end of the promenade you can choose to continue towards the lighthouse until you find a picturesque bar called Es Mirall to have a drink with a very special view of the Port of Sóller. Alternatively, we can turn back in the direction of the tram stop and continue along the promenade towards the other side of the port, passing places like the Minibar, one of the best places in the port to enjoy the incredible sunset before going to dinner.

After taking some pictures, we will continue along the promenade towards the centre of the Port until we reach the Airecel Restaurant, where we recommend you to have dinner to discover the local gastronomy in a creative way and in a really nice, Mediterranean and exclusive place. After dinner, we will continue on towards the main quay of the Port of Sóller. Once there, we can choose to enjoy the local atmosphere by having a drink in the local bars or continue our walk to the Mirador de Santa Catalina, a unique viewpoint with fantastic views of the Port of Sóller and the Mediterranean Sea. If you choose this option, when you come down from the viewpoint, we recommend that you finish your walk at the end of the port, where you will find "La Base", a bar by the sea. Finally, we will return to the centre of the Port to take a taxi and return to the Gran Hotel Sóller after a fantastic afternoon and evening in the Port of Sóller

SUMMER NIGHTS IN FORNALUTX

Another fantastic option to enjoy the summer nights is to go up to Fornalutx, our neighbouring municipality. To do so, we can take a taxi that will drop us off in the centre of this picturesque village in the Tramuntana mountains. We will choose to go up around 18.00h and at the weekend. Although it is true that in summer there is a lively atmosphere every day, Fornalutx has a magnificent cultural programme. Concerts, theatres, exhibitions and many other activities that you can enjoy at the weekend in the village square or in Ca'n Xoroi, the old taffeta of the municipality, now restored and converted into a museum and cultural space. A programme that can be consulted at all times on the social networks of the Fornalutx Town Hall. Once we arrive, we can take a stroll through its stone streets in the moonlight and enjoy the wide gastronomic offer in the bars and restaurants of the area, which offer options for all tastes. From pa amb olis and Mallorcan cuisine to pizzas, pastas and Indian. So after dinner, we can enjoy a concert and soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere of this fantastic town before catching a taxi, just off the square, to return to the Gran Hotel Sóller.

SUMMER NIGHTS IN BINIARAIX

Our last option is ideal for lovers of tranquillity, peace, nature and for those who want to discover a place full of history in which to spend a magical summer night. We are talking about Biniaraix, a llogaret in Sóller at the foot of the Barranc de Biniaraix. To get there, we can go on foot from the Gran Hotel Sóller, along Calle de La Luna, a 25 minute walk, or by taxi. Once there, you will see that there is not much more than a bar with a tobacconist and a restaurant. However, that is where the magic lies. From its picturesque little square we can visit Ses Rentadores de Biniaraix at night, its narrow streets and contemplate the painted tiles, a piece declared a World Heritage Site that can be seen in some of the houses. After this fantastic walk, you can have a drink at Bar Bodega Biniaraix and finish the evening with dinner at Es Barranc de Biniaraix, both located in the same square, before returning to the Gran Hotel Sóller. Choosing the Sóller Valley for your holidays means choosing a unique gastronomic destination, magical, safe, comfortable, pleasant, cultural and with an infinite number of options both day and night. Let yourself go and enjoy the summer nights in the Tramuntana. Undoubtedly a perfect plan to get to know the essence of the heart of the Mediterranean. If you are staying at our hotel, do not hesitate to ask any questions to our reception team, who will be happy to answer all your queries!
