The Best Hiking Routes in Majorca in the surroundings of Soller

From the Gran Hotel Soller we propose you some charming and very diverse excursions, some of them are hiking routes through the mountains, others start in Soller, others are very easy excursions, and all of them are considered some of the most beautiful hiking routes in Mallorca:

EXCURSION BINIARIAX - ES BARRANC DE BINIARAIX or FORNALUTX

Half-day excursion visiting Biniaraix and Fornalutx (2 hours of walking in total), with an alternative long excursion from Es Barranc de Biniaraix to Cúber (8 hours).

Very close to Soller, about 30 minutes walking, you can visit the village of Biniaraix. Located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, in the village of Biniaraix you will enjoy marvellous views of the mountains and a stroll through the cobbled streets that will seem to transport you back to the Mallorca of our ancestors. Once there, be sure to ask about the stone washhouse, which was the meeting place for women to wash their clothes and catch up on everything that was going on in the village. From the Biniaraix washhouse itself, two well-known excursions begin: Es Barranc de Biniaraix (a 4-hour excursion to the Cúber reservoir) and the C'as Patró Lau path that will take you to the village of Fornalutx (a 25-minute walk).

EXCURSION FROM SES BARQUES VIEWPOINT TO BALITX

One of the most beautiful mountain excursions in Mallorca that starts at the Mirador de Ses Barques (3 hours walking in total).

The Mirador de ses Barques is a 15 minute drive from the Gran Hotel Soller.  At the Mirador de Ses Barques you can leave your car and have a magnificent view of the Port of Soller. From there you will see a sign that says Balitx, where the excursion begins along a dirt track where you will find a landscape of stone, water and marvellous centenary olive trees in the grounds of three old estates typical of rural Mallorca: Balitx d'Amunt, Balitx d'Enmig and Balitx d'Avall. After walking for about an hour and a half and having seen the first two estates, you will arrive at Balitx d'Avall, a beautiful estate with a defence tower. The difficulty of the excursion is medium and the round trip lasts approximately three hours.

CIRCULAR EXCURSION TO THE TOSSALS VERDS REFUGE

Circular excursion where you can contemplate the Cúber reservoir and enjoy the views of the Tossals Verds Refuge.

This circular excursion starts at the Font des Noguer, which is about 30 minutes by car from the Gran Hotel Soller. During the drive you will enjoy winding along the road in the middle of the Serra de Tramuntana and skirting the Cúber reservoir until you will reach a small parking junto a la Font des Noguer.

At the Font des Noguer, take the GR 221 Pas de Llis, Refugi des Tossals Verds signposted path, which is just to the right, passing a small wooden staircase and following a few metres, you will see the signposting for the ascent to 911m above sea level. Then you will come to a stone wall with a gate where the path starts going up and down until you reach the Refugi de Tossals Verds, where you can refuel with water, soft drinks and food surrounded by wonderful views.

As it is a circular excursion, the return is done by taking the indications to "Ses Cases Velles" and then to the "Font des Noguer", the indication is located at the left of the refuge, remember that we do not return by the same way we have been coming. Go up the path until you reach the gully that comes from the Gorg Blau reservoir, from there follow the path parallel to the gully and you will arrive at the car park where you left the car. It will take you approximately 4 to 5 hours, depending on your pace.
